Tower: Marshmallow and Toothpicks

The purpose was To determine the best way to build a structure for height and strength using only toothpicks and marshmallows.

We found out that even though we fixed our problems, the real problem was that with the materials we had it was impossible to create a perfect structure. The joints (marshmallows) were too small and weak. They were often ripped apart after just a few tries. If we had enough members (toothpicks), maybe there could have been a way, but it was impossible to succeed. If we tried to fulfill the height requirements, then the structure became too weak. If we ignored the height and focused on support that the structure could hold, the joints were too weak.
