The purpose of this project was to find the total weight a toothpick bridge can hold and we had a competition to see which model was most effective in holding the weight. In our design, we applied the rectangular prism design because we thought that it will equalize and hold the most weight. We tested our first trial, and we learned that there were too many open space between the bridges, so we added more toothpicks diagonally and strengthened the gaps between the spaces with more toothpicks. On the second trial, we noticed that the glue on the sides that made the width made the bridge less strong. It was the cause of the bridge to bend. The joints seem to be fine, however the sides of the bridge was not strong so it bent the whole project and ended up to collapse.
