Describe the class activity - Design 1.

On the first trial, we failed to even put the weighing device onto our bridge. the bridge was too weak to hold the whole weighting device(basket).

held a total of 273.4 g of the basket (not even held it for long)
How did you modify the design to make your span stronger for your second trial, Design 1-Trial B ?
In Order to modify the desgin for the next trial, we added more toothpicks on the sides. The problem we noticed was that the bottom parts weren't perfectly stuck together, and no strong enough to hold the whole strucutre. So we added two tooth picks on each side.
Was Design 1-Trail B stronger than Design 1-Trail A?
Yes, defintely. Our second one held much longer, because the base was way stronger than the first structure.
What was the strength for Design 1?
To be honest,there was no strenth for design 1 since it didn't even hold the basket. However the strucutre seemed like if it was fixed, we could succed in the second trial.
Describe the class activity - Design 2.

How was your Design 1-A different from Design 2-A?

Design 1 was much weaker than Design 2. It had a weaker bottom part that could hold the weight.
How did you modify Design 2-A to make your span stronger for your second trial, Design 2-B?
We added even more tooth picks on the sides so that the toothpicks will still hold the strucutre even though the others breaked. It was like a back up toothpick.
Out of all four trials which design was best & why?
The last one becuase we had the strongest base with the most amount of weight held. The sturucture was fixed form the fist and the weakness of the bottom parts were fixed along the trials.

What would you do the next time you work on this project?
Next time I think I would put more diagonal toothpicks instad of the bottoms. It seemed like the toothpicks were suffering diagonally when it was about to collapse.
