Purpose: Using different folding techniques and Origami styles (shapes) we practiced folding papers. We were given certain shapes (challanges) with directions and we had to make them. Some of the shapes were birds, animals (frogs, etc) and 3 types of boxes.
First of all I folded a swan, and this was very difficult for me. I used to fold a lot of orgami papers, however this one was the first time folding a swan. Even though I was looking at the directions, I had no idea wheather or not I was on track. I needed some help from my classmates. I made a jumping frog and another type of bird that looked similar to a swan. Later on for the 3D orgami challanges, I created all three orgami callanges. THe open box was so easy that I could even help my other classmates. The ballon was the next easiest thing to build. It was simlar to making a box, but it was a much different result. Afterwards, I created the 3d box using 6 folded papers and I suffered a lot. It took me 2 classes to make it and I still don't understand why I had to make it 3 times over and over again. I looked at the directions, but it was not a video like the other box challanges so it was so difficult for me to understand how to create it and combine it. I think that the ballon was the best because it was really surprising that you could actually blow into a paper and make a balloon. It will most likely float because there is air inside. I think that the most efficent model for the egg drop is the box and the balloon if I put in many balloons inside the 3d cube. The force will be taken into the ballons and not let the egg crack right away.
If I were to do it again, I would and I would use videos rather than wiki how for making the 3Dcube.
